CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety
(Formerly known as “Basic Food Hygeine” or “Foundation Food Hygiene”)

This course allows candidates to acquire the necessary knowledge in the theory and practice of safe food handling.

The one day course covers:
  • The importance of food hygeine
  • Microbiology & illness
  • Contamination & prevention of illness
  • Personal hygiene
  • Cleaning & disinfection
  • Food pests
  • Premises & equipment
  • Food safety control
  • Legislation food safety hazards
Duration: 6 hours (this excludes the examination)

Schedule: Typically: 9.00am - 5.00pm (1 hour lunch break plus 2 x 15 minute breaks)

Location: Ipswich

Cost: £55 plus VAT @ 20% (£11.00) + Text books £3.60 (non-vatable)

TOTAL: £69.60 inc VAT @ 20%(includes all course notes, reference handbook to take away, tea, coffee and biscuits)

Exam: Multiple choice, 30 questions
