Why should I bother with an Apprenticeship Scheme?
You and your business need skilled, motivated, efficient and reliable staff. The Apprenticeship Scheme helps you to achieve this.

With practical training by you, we support you and your learner with regular visits and tutorials at a convenient time. You and your learner decide the most suitable units, we supply the underpinning knowledge via a Portfolio, DVDs and workbooks.

Some of my staff have asked about getting qualified, is there anything for them?
YES. The Government now supplies funding for anyone up to the age of 65 (if they do not have a degree) to do a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Levels II and III. All staff are eligible.

How is the training delivered?
At the workplace. We compile a Training Plan with you and your candidate. We provide the portfolio with training DVDs and workbooks. Your assessor visits regularly on a day convenient to you and we offer tutorials.

How do staff get qualified?
By practical assessments, verbal questions and completing workbooks. Apprenticeship candidates have 8 examinations of the units you have selected each consisting of 20 questions. Candidates of 19+ on NVQ II under Train to Gain do not take examinations.

Apprenticeships - are they for young people only?
NO. They are for any age.

The Advanced Apprenticeship
The Advanced Apprenticeship is ideal for someone you are developing as a supervisor or manager. NVQ Level III Advanced Certificate in Meat and Poultry, HACCP Level II and Keyskills Level II.

Will they have to attend College?
YES. There is a residential four times a year at Ipswich, Monday to Wednesday.
